Volunteering is deeply embedded in Haverhub’s ethos – we believe that everyone has skills to bring. If you want to contribute to building a happy, vibrant and successful town, become a HaverHelper! Your time, energy, past experiences or future dreams will all find a place in growing Haverhub as an organisation for regeneration.

Come to our volunteer gatherings (which will be starting again once Covid allows) or sign up to our newsletter to find out what’s going on behind the scenes and how to get involved. It’s a great way to make friends, and the HaverHelpers are a fun and sociable team. People of any age are welcome, from school students to retirees!

We want to be flexible to fit into volunteers’ own routines, so you can choose from short stints or more regular roles over extended periods. We also look for people with previous business or relevant experience to join our core management team from time to time. Specific roles can be found on our jobs page, but please register your interest using the form below and we will try to accommodate your skills. Some roles may offer the potential for paid shifts.

Typical things we will be looking for include but are not limited to:

  • IT, Graphic Design and Website
  • Maintenance and Decorating
  • Art installations and creative touches
  • Events and Bar work
  • Front of House and Kitchen roles for the Café and Events
  • Reception and Admin
  • Events Set-up and Clear-up
  • Marketing and Promotion
  • Or offer your own skills…

Haverhub aims to bring opportunities into the town centre for everyone, and provide a space to grow socially, personally and professionally. We offer Work Experience and Duke of Edinburgh placements, and a limited number of Internship opportunities for university students.

Though we are currently closed for building work, there’s lots going on behind the scenes, and there are still opportunities for you to volunteer. If a more hands-on role is preferable, our site reopens in Spring 2021, when there will be plenty to do! Please get in touch if you want to forward plan – it will give us time to work out the best role for you.
