Hire a Space at HaverHub

Haverhub is made up of a renovated main listed post office building on Quay Street, and two warehouses in our courtyard – one providing a bar space and the other an event space. To the rear of the site and as yet still derelict and inaccessible, a Quayside warehouse we hope to renovate for further community spaces. We are currently designing this area and will publicise plans to get community input.

Haverhub aims to provide welcoming and interesting spaces up to SEVEN days and evenings a week, for hire by groups and organisations, promotors and private individuals for work or social bookings, in the following spaces:

Bar

Our quirky bar has repurposed the long oak-fronted former post office counter, giving it a totally new purpose, and position, to the rear of the site in what was the post van repair warehouse! This large high space gives a glance back at the sites head post yard past – and the bar connects you directly with our DEPOT EVENT SPACE.

Red brick and industrial structure is the vibe to enjoy here. Arty and upcycled, basic and robust. Also for hire as part of Depot and event hire, or as an additional quirky space in the daytime – we have even had Welsh lessons in here! Bar-only event capacity approx. 60.

Café / Reception

A bright spacious meeting place with café open 6 days a week until 4pm. We hope to extend these hours, bringing a chilled range of themed evenings – watch this space and our FB pages. We are happy for people to have their informal meetings in the café, use lap tops etc provided you are also purchasing refreshments and are happy to move at busy / mealtimes for those coming to eat. We have quiet hot desk space upstairs – just ask at reception.

Many of our classes make use of the café area to meet before or after their choirs/Ballet/training or classes.
Friendly dogs are also welcome.

We have baby changing facilities in both the female and male loos nearby.

Corner Room

This light private room can seat up to 25 people in theatre style, or most often used for meetings and training for approx. 15 people. Tables and chairs available to your requirements. Also available as an empty, carpeted space.

Meeting facilities: windows have blinds to ensure screens and presentations fully visible, and we will shortly be upgrading our meeting AV to enable hybrid meetings and other benefits – watch this space.

Courtyard

Our unrenovated but very popular ‘yard’ provides safe break-out space with the privacy of a high walled perimeter decorated with Pembrokeshire wildlife scenes painted by Lloyd the Graffiti. Recent additions – otter, trout and cormorant show our close relationship with the river Cleddau which we will give greater access to for our customers once our next renovations are done! We have live music or DJ’s in the summer, performing off our ‘stage’ to the courtyard, under a glass roof with basic power points and festoon lighting, if you want to have an outdoor summer event. A range of picnic benches can be added to, seating up to about 150 outside.

Depot

This large former warehouse (65 postal vans!) is a red brick shabby Chic space VERY popular with local musicians and public alike for our weekly open mic nights. We have annual vintage motorbike shows, screenings with our large projector and screen such as rugby, films – available to hire. Seated formal or theatre layout we can easily seat 200 currently and the space will be increased later this year.
Also good for a variety of performances, markets, activities, large public meetings and whatever gigs or celebrations you need in a big cool space! This attached directly to the bar and courtyard for outdoor breakout space. Events in the depot can be accessed through the yard gates ie. late events when the main building is closed.

We have a range of AV equipment – ask the office for PA hire/ Sound engineer or other support for your event.

Hire rates vary – please talk to our Venue Manager about your ideas.

Hot Desks

Quiet working space just upstairs from the café/reception area is available either on the day (subject to spaces) or booking ahead. £9 a day makes this a very affordable way to work in the county town, benefitting from the friendly café below and fast internet. Ask at reception when you arrive. Available during main reception opening hours 10 – 5 though we can be flexible by prior arrangement.

Sorting Office

Once the county sorting office, where mail as well as all the takings from Oakwood were brought and sorted, this lovely room has skylights and a large roof lantern, flooding the space with natural light. Excellent for markets and creative activities. We have installed blinds to cut down the light for use of projectors, presentations and other AV equipment, and a range of lights can create whatever mood your event requires.

This large airy space can seat 200 people in rows, has a small stage option, or with tables and chairs for markets, trade shows and public engagement sessions, public meetings, training, banquets and celebrations. It is usually kept empty for the wide range of well-being classes regularly run with the wooden hall floor and underfloor heating, such as Yoga, gong baths, Pilates, Ballet, or a range of choirs. Hire rate ranges from £20 to £25/hr depending on the activities.
